Project & Quote Policy
Effective Date: July 1, 2026 | Last Updated: July 1, 2026
How to Submit a Project Request
Submit your project idea through the request-a-quote form with a photo, sketch, size, material preference, quantity, and desired timeline. NextLayer Lab Ltd. will review feasibility and respond with a quote if the project is suitable.
Feasibility Review
Every request is reviewed on a case-by-case basis before a quote is provided. Feasibility depends on factors including size, geometry, material, intended use, tolerance requirements, finish, deadline, and current equipment capability. Not all ideas, parts, or use cases may be possible due to these limitations. NextLayer Lab Ltd. may recommend design changes, alternative approaches, or material substitutions, or may decline a project for lawful business reasons including safety, quality, legal, copyright, equipment, or feasibility reasons.
3D Printing Limitations
3D printed parts may have visible layer lines, directional strength variation, heat sensitivity, UV and weathering limitations, and dimensional tolerance variation. These are normal characteristics of the process and are not production defects.
Laser Engraving and Cutting Limitations
Laser engraving and cutting results vary depending on material type, grain direction, coating, color, surface finish, and material density. Results cannot be guaranteed to be identical across different materials, batches, or settings.
Quote Confirmation
Work does not begin until a quote is formally reviewed and accepted by the customer. Submitting a request does not obligate NextLayer Lab Ltd. to produce any item, and does not confirm an order, price, timeline, or availability.
We will not charge for additional work beyond the accepted quote without customer approval.
Payment and Deposit
A deposit or full payment may be required before production begins. Payment terms, deposit amount, balance due, pickup, delivery, shipping, and applicable taxes will be stated in the project quote before work begins.
Quote Changes
If project details change after a quote is accepted, pricing, materials, and timeline may need to be revised and approved before work continues.
Design, Prototyping, and Revisions
Custom work may involve design time, prototyping, revisions, material testing, and process limitations. We will communicate these as part of the quote process.
Finish and Appearance
Color, texture, layer lines, grain, burn tone, engraving contrast, and surface finish may vary between items, materials, and production runs. These are normal characteristics of custom 3D printing and laser processing and do not qualify as production defects.
Customer Approval
Where applicable, a design proof or sample approval may be requested before full production begins. Customers are responsible for confirming all project details, including names, spelling, dimensions, artwork, and design references, before approval. Errors in customer-approved designs may not qualify for free remake or refund.
Timeline
Production timelines begin only after the quote is accepted, all required files and details are received, and applicable payment is confirmed. Timeline estimates are approximate and not guaranteed. Rush requests may not always be possible depending on current production schedule, materials, and project complexity.
Safety-Critical Use
Customers should not rely on custom-made 3D printed or laser engraved items for critical safety applications without independent professional review. A quote or consultation from NextLayer Lab Ltd. does not constitute engineering certification or approval for any specific use.
File and Reference Submissions
Please only upload or send images, logos, artwork, or reference files that you own or have permission to use. NextLayer Lab Ltd. may decline to produce items involving content where ownership or permission cannot be confirmed.
Legal Rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable Alberta or Canadian law.
